This cabinet was designed as a gift for my daughter who recently graduated from pharmacy school.  It is intended to hold a collection of antique medicine bottles my wife has collected for her.  The cabinet matches a desk and bookshelf that I had made for her last year.
The top, bottom, and center horizontal members are housed in dado joints.  The back is in a rabbet joint.  The doors are constructed with briddle joints and the two drawers are dovetail construction.  The doors are fitted with beveled glass in a rabbet joint and there are two adjustable glass shelves inside the cabinet.  The finish is "Minwax natural" with three coats of lacquer.

Judges Comments
AJH : Daughters are lucky to have woodworking dads, and this piece works quite well for its phramacological theme. I would love to have seen the matching pieces of the set.
EW : I'm sure your daughter will treasure this joint effort forever. One design quibble would be the composition of the grain in this piece. Red oak is famous for being difficult to match up visually (stiles and rails in particular), so you really need to resaw the matching parts yourself. Regardless, this is a lovely expression of your sentiments.
