Tiger Maple, Poplar |

This was my first attempt at a corner cabinet. It was designed as an antique reprodution. The glass and hardware were chosen to compliment that idea and give the piece a historical feel. The door and face frame were constructed with traditional mortise and tenon joinery, the drawer is constructed with half blind rabbeted dovetails and the cornice is seven different profiles combined to form one. The finish is a cherry amber analine dye followed by six coats a shellac and a final coat of wax.

The inside of the cabinet is poplar and is painted a cabinetmaker's blue followed by a glaze.
