This was my first attempt at a corner cabinet.  It was designed as an antique reprodution.  The glass and hardware were chosen to compliment that idea and give the piece a historical feel.  The door and face frame were constructed with traditional mortise and tenon joinery, the drawer is constructed with half blind rabbeted dovetails and the cornice is seven different profiles combined to form one.  The finish is a cherry amber analine dye followed by six coats a shellac and a final coat of wax.

The inside of the cabinet is poplar and is painted a cabinetmaker's blue followed by a glaze.

AJH : The deep, rich red of the exterior finish is complemented perfectly by the painted interior. An excellent display piece for your Shaker boxes.
DM : Charming piece. The maker truly captured the warmth and charm of a finely made antique corner cabinet.
EW : This piece captures the spirit and charm of a traditional corner cabinet very nicely. I like the fact that you let the texture of the curly maple remain. It adds an authenticity. The delicate muntins, glazed interior and antique glass add to the classy antique flavor of this piece. Nice job.
RJ : What a lovely reproduction of a traditional style. Even the interior has the right feel with fancy shelf fronts and plain coloured interior.
