Side view, note floating tenons top and bottom, My wall cabinet made of oak and has a tambour door.  It is 23 inches tall and 20 inches wide.  It is 7 inches deep at the bottom, 8 1/2 " deep at the widest point and 5 3/4 " deep at the top.  The rounding over of the sides and the handle was done by hand using a spokeshave.  It is mounted to the wall using a French cleat.  There are two stops in near the bottom on the tambour track, when they and the handle are removed the entire tambour door can be removed for maintenance.

Judges Comments
AJH : Nice execution (especially the curved handle), but those four darker oak slats in the tambor door are a bit distracting. I'm curious as to how and where this will be used.
RJ : I wish I could know what this cabinet is for. I'm intrigued by your choice of a vertically running tambour, and is it initially heavy to close, and does it run away with you a bit when it's nearly fully open? Could a side running tambour have been used? I would really have liked you tell us why you made your choices, but I note you've thought of the need for tambour maintenance which is good forward thinking.
