Dimensions (inches):
  Width:   12
  Height:   24
  Depth:   7.5
Materials:   Mohagany, Finish Birch Plywood, Curly Makore Veneer, Ebonized Maple.
I nicely proportioned cabinet with door that bows out 5/8" over the width and follows the carcass profile. The door was created with a form and bent lamination. The handle was turned and dyed, and the bead around the door, and astragal profile on the shelf were hand cut using moulding planes.

The pattern of hand cut carcass dovetails and detail of the ebonized bead that surrounds the door.

A shot with the door open showing the gently curve of the carcass and door.

A shot of the hand made, teardrop, ebonized pull.

A deatil of the astragal profile on the shelves, hand cut.

Judges Comments
AJH : I love curved-front doors, and the double-dovetails are a very nice touch. I think the interior might benefit from the plywood back panel being a bit darker to better match the colors of the rest of the piece.
EW : I like the subtlety of this piece a lot. I don't think the finish does justice to the otherwise high level of craftsmanship.
RJ : I liked the carefully selected makore veneer and the dovetail joinery is clean and neatly executed. The curve of the door is subtle.
