Dimensions (inches):
  Width:   25
  Height:   31 1/2
  Depth:   3 5/8
Materials:   Maple hardwood and maple ply.

This is one of a pair of medicine cabinets I made. The carcass is 1/2-inch maple ply with biscuit-joined and glued hardwood face-frame.

Shelf front edges routed for effect. Backplane is 1/4 inch maple ply recessed and not visible from cabinet side view. Drawer knob backplates adapted to mount mirror backing in door.

Doors 3/4 inch hardwood produced from a jig I made to cut the stiles and rails with the router mounted on tablesaw bed. Edges routed except for hinge mount areas.

Nailless/bradless moulding mounted with only glue.

Judges Comments
AJH : Very clean and fits nicely for its intended use and location. The crown molding seems just a bit large without a corresponding molding on the bottom.
RJ : This pair of cabinets work well in their specified location and look cleanly constructed. It seems the top and base of the cabinet are fitted into a rebated tongue at either end of each side-- this is visually at variance to the strong vertical lines created by the edge of the door and the door rail to stile construction, and this is perhaps an aesthetic point to consider in future projects. I find the cornice is a little too strong suggesting that either a small counterbalancing 'plinth' is required or that it would benefit from being scaled down a little.
