Dimensions (inches):
  Width:   16 1/8
  Height:   22 1/8
  Depth:   4 5/8
Materials:   Wood is Cherry and Pine. Inlay is checked veneer. knob is antique porcelin. Mirror over plywood for the back. Glass insert in door. Paint is black with gold overlay using faux painting effect.

My objective is to create an Egyptian theme into the cabinet to match the theme of our bathroom. Shelves are inserted into dados in the sides of the cabinet. The back is completely mirror which reflects opposite beige colored wall which you are seeing. The door is constructed using mortise and tenon joinery. The glass in door is held into rabbit recess with gold trim molding.

The top and bottom of cabinet are covered with cove molding mitered at the corners.
The black and white checkered veneer at top and bottom of the door are inlaid.

Cabinet is painted black with gold topcoat using faux painting effect. The trim molding around glass of door is painted solid gold.

Judges Comments
AJH : My daughter went through an Egyptian period once, so this cabinet appeals to me very much. What are the "wings" on the sides at the top against the wall?
EW : This is a very nice entry. I'd like to see detail shots of the inlay work and some explanation of the hanging method.
RJ : An effective end result that seems to work well with the overall bathroom theme. I'm not sure what the 'ears' are at the side of the cabinet top but they do distract the eye rather as they seem not to be an integral element but were applied later.
