Materials:   Sassafras with walnut accents
This a flag box I made for my fathers flag. He died May Of "04". I used Sassafras cause he was a simple man. He also liked Walnut so I saw the new Miller system and I used the mini system in Walnut as accents.

Here is a good look at the miller system (mini walnut) they are being used on the sides as dowels to hold the butt joint together and also make a great accent.

this angle shows more of the sassafras that is crossing the box. I put the 21 bullets from my dad's twenty one gun salute on it.The back is sprayed felt in black. I used a 45 angle to hang the cabinet so no fasteners show.

I put a carved eagle on the top of the box. The door opens and I put hinges and a latch on the sides in a antique style. The flag fit perfectly in the opening. I used a pecan stain with tongue oil for a semi glossy finish.
